What is an oven protector liner, and how does it work?

An oven protector liner, like the Unstick Reusable Oven Liner, is a non-stick sheet designed to catch spills, drips, and crumbs—helping you keep your oven clean without harsh scrubbing. Simply place the oven protector sheet on the lower rack (not the oven floor), and let it do the dirty work while you cook.

I have a gas oven. Can I place the oven liner on the bottom of the oven?

No. If you have a gas oven, DO NOT place the oven liner on the bottom of the oven. It must be placed on the bottom rack. Gas ovens have vents along the bottom or sides, and covering them—even partially—can disrupt airflow and lead to carbon monoxide buildup, which is extremely dangerous.

I have an electric oven with a hidden element. Can I place the oven liner on the bottom of the oven? 

No. If your electric oven has a hidden element, DO NOT place the oven liner on the bottom. It must go on the lowest rack instead. The hidden element sits beneath the oven floor and can reach temperatures of up to 800°F or more. At these high temps, any material placed on the bottom—whether foil, silicone, or a liner—can melt, warp, or damage your oven.
